Supporting the People who Support Darien
In March of 2020, the Darien Foundation partnered with Corbin Cares, funded a $75,000 grant to provide meals in Darien for seniors and for families affected by the difficult lockdown situation. Over 5,000 healthy, restaurant prepared meals were given out in Darien through July 2.
Now, as a result of the longer than expected duration of the COVID-19 crisis, Corbin Cares and The Darien Foundation are going back to work to support the people who support Darien and to support our local businesses.
In this next phase, donations to Corbin Cares, through the Darien Foundation, will be used to fund gifted meals prepared by a group of local restaurants and caterers for Darien Public School teachers and staff, Darien’s volunteer firefighters, members of the Darien Police Department, EMS Post 53 volunteers, and employees of the Town of Darien, including Public Works and Parks and Recreation. Corbin Cares will also be positioned to provide meals for other Darien residents and neighbors as the need arises over the coming, uncertain winter months.
This holiday season, please join us in expressing our gratitude to these essential workers who do amazing things for our community every day and who have worked hard to support Darien over these last few months.
The Darien Foundation will match all donations at 50% of the amounts raised through our efforts, up to a total grant from the Darien Foundation equal to $25,000. The Darien Foundation is a 501(c) (3) public charity, and all donations are fully tax-deductible under applicable laws.

About Corbin Cares:
Corbin Cares works with The Darien Foundation, The Community Fund of Darien, The Darien Lions Club, Food Rescue US, and several local restaurants to get healthy, ready-to-eat meals delivered to those in our community who are food insecure and to our hospital & healthcare workers during this battle with Covid-19. Corbin Cares was initiated by Baywater Properties and PG Properties in connection with their redevelopment of a portion of downtown Darien, which they have branded The Corbin District.
