AUCTION RULES

Bidding will begin at approximately 8:30 pm. A bid is entered by raising your Yacht Rock Program or hand and being recognized by the auctioneer. The auctioneer has the right to determine and set bidding increments on each item. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer shall have sole and final authority to determine the successful bidder or to refer or resell the item at his sole discretion. On the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer, title to the item will pass to the acknowledged highest bidder who then assumes full risk and responsibility.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

Please bid generously. All proceeds go directly to The Darien Foundation. At the fall of the hammer on each lot, the successful bidder will be given a form to sign. Your bid will be recorded with your name. Payment in full prior to the conclusion of the evening is mandatory. Although we do accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa, we prefer and greatly appreciate payment with checks whenever possible. By paying with a check, you help ensure that the dollars you so generously spend go to The Darien Foundation and not toward credit card processing fees. Thank you!

If you arrange a group to share the cost of a particular item or service, payment for shared purchases must be organized by the successful bidder who is solely responsible for payment to The Darien Foundation. Items will be released to the holder of the winning bid upon presentation of a paid receipt. All items, including auction packets, must be removed from the auction site by the end of the evening. All items and services are donated and are being sold “as is.” The Yacht Rock event committee and The Darien Foundation shall not be held responsible for the correctness of description, genuineness, authorship, conditions of items or services sold, or dollar value estimates provided by donors. In no event shall the Yacht Rock committee, The Darien Foundation or anyone acting on their behalf be held liable for any occurrence arising out of the use of an item or service.

All sales are final and binding. No refunds or exchanges will be made except where so specified. Please read carefully the specifications and limitations. All auction items and services expire as described and may not be extended or changed without written consent from the donor. Many items are sold subject to mutually agreeable terms by the purchaser and the donor on a space available basis. Please make reservations immediately to avoid disappointment. Gift certificates should be treated like cash and cannot be replaced after receipt by the purchaser. All packages that include alcoholic beverages or the service of alcohol are exclusively for patrons over the age of 21 years.
