Enjoy a private and intimate candlelit dinner for eight at one of the hardest tables to book in town, the historic Mather house. Enjoy customizing your multi-course meal with local favorite Megan Ruppenstein of Four Forks, to be enjoyed in the original Mather dining room. Dinner will be paired with a case of wine from Darien Foundation founder Richard Chilton’s Hourglass Vineyard in Napa Valley, California. Each guest also will take home a signed copy of Mr. Chilton’s 2017 book, Adventures with Old Vines: A Beginner’s Guide to Being a Wine Connoisseur. The table will be decorated with a beautiful floral arrangement from Nielsen’s Florist.

You’ll need to wash this delicious food down with something, so how about three cold cases of locally brewed Two Roads Beer? From their hoppy IPAs to artisanal seasonal ales, Two Roads offers a craft beer for everyone’s taste.

The Mather Homestead in Darien, Connecticut was built in 1778 by Deacon Joseph Mather and has been preserved over seven generations.  The Homestead has a rich history dating back to the Revolutionary War, and even more significantly as the home of Stephen Tyng Mather, an important conservationist and founder of our National Park Service. In addition to your culinary and wine experience, the historic setting is certain to encourage great discussion and an evening to remember.

The dinner can be scheduled year-round, EXCEPT July or August as this historic house does not have air conditioning. Saturday nights are preferred. The winter months can be very cozy! Must be a mutually agreed upon date by all parties.
